This year’s program, Redefining Grit: Modern Lawyers’ Perspectives, will explore how grit and growth mindset shape success in today’s legal profession. Drawing on concepts from the American Bar Association’s Grit and Growth Mindset Project—and expanding beyond it—our panel will highlight both research findings and lived experiences from leaders across the judiciary, business, and community sectors.

The program will be moderated by Emily Litzinger, Partner at Fisher Phillips, with the following panelists:

• Judge Denise Clayton – Retired Judge of the Kentucky Court of Appeals and current mediator with the Retired Judges Mediation and Arbitration Services.

• Laura Douglas – Interim President and CEO of the West End Opportunity Partnership; former in-house counsel and Co-Executive Director of TARC.

• Judge Regina Edwards – United States Magistrate Judge for the Western District of Kentucky; former Assistant United States Attorney and First Assistant U.S. Attorney.

• Jennifer Green – Digital & Technology Chief Legal Officer at Yum! Brands and Louisville Business First Forty under 40 honoree.

• Justice Angela McCormick Bisig – Justice of the Kentucky Supreme Court, previously served in both District and Circuit Courts.
